Zinox Group has donated a multi-purpose bus
to the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS) in Lagos, DigitalSENSE Business News, can
authoritatively report.
Handing over the keys of the vehicle to the
newly elected president of NCS, Dr. David Adewumi, the chairman of Zinox Group,
Dr. Leo-Stan Ekeh, commended the society for always living up to its billing
whenever the need arises in the industry.
He also charged the society intact by
ensuring the leadership is people driven, stressing that the donation of the
bus to NCS was in fulfillment of earlier promise.
Ekeh applauded the leadership of NCS for
accepting to be part of the bus presentation with most of the senior members of
the society in attendance.
Responding, NCS president, Prof. Adewumi commended
Zinox Group for supporting NCS over the years, disclosing that the National
Information Technology Merit Awards (NITMA) would hold in early December this
year and enjoined member companies to
stand up to be counted during the honour period.
He also prayed for Zinox and its
management, noting that more things needs to be done to position the society
where it should be in order to consciously assist the country in development of
strong IT-based.
The event was well attended with presence
of the former president of NCS, Dr. Chris Nwannenna and former Executive Vice
Chairman, Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, while
the acting Director-General of the National Information Technology Development
Agency (NITDA) was ably represented at
the occasion, as well as the Executive Secretary of NCS, Mr. Chinedu Onuoha.

Ekeh was later presented to him by NCS in appreciation.
Earlier the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto
Diocese, His Lordship, Most Rev. Matthew Kukah graced the occasion with an
opening prayer and across the guest handshake and blessing for the new NCS
exco.
