IWFI collaborates LBS on Socio-Tech confab 2013

The Institute for Work and Family Integration (IWFI) in collaboration with the Lagos Business School (LBS) is organizing a two-day International Conference and Exhibition titled Society and Technology 2013, DigitalSENSE Business News reports.

DigitalSENSE Business News gathered from a release issued by  the  Programme Coordinator, Callistus Dike  disclosed that this year’s theme : Digital Technology and New Media: Transforming Businesses, Challenging family values will highlight emerging trends in new media and its attendant impact on work, family and the society and provide effective tools to manage this impact.

Notable personalities billed to grace this year’s conference include the Honourable Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson, Associate Professor University of Houston, Dr. Christiane Spitzmueller, Chairman, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Pascal Dozie CON, Mr. MD/CEO, Computer Warehouse Group Austin Okere, Founder/CEO Centre for Values in Leadership, Prof. Pat Utomi, Country Manager, Google (Nigeria), Mrs Juliet Ehimuan, and Managing Director, Jumia.com, Mr. Raphael Afaedor.

DigitalSENSE Business News noted that the conference will also discuss the impact of technology on the 
family, such as, risks to children through social media, interaction between people and the role of their personal gadgets, the rules for using technology and the internet while preserving social values.

The event will be held on 22nd and 23rd of October 2013 at the Lagos Business School’s Honeywell Auditorium, Ajah Campus, Lagos, Nigeria will bring together top CEOs and senior executives from blue chip companies and NGOs, new media gurus, concerned parents, government representatives, students and forward thinking professionals and engage over 600 participants to the conference and about 3000 visitors to the exhibition.
