CloseUp Loves Naija concerts attract celebrities

The Close Up Loves Naija concerts across the cities of Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Abuja, held last weekend, were centre of attractions for celebrities, DigitalSENSE Art & Fashion reports.

Also, DigitalSENSE Art & Fashion gathered that featured in the concerts include top Nigerian artistes such as MI, DJ Jimmy Jatt, KCee, Skales, Emma Nyra, Dammy Krane in addition to an array of comedians and upcoming music artistes.

Some of activities that mark the concerts include games, dance competitions, comedy, face painting for kids, musical performances, and raffle draws, amongst others. Through raffle tickets collected at the venues, different giveaways such as cash prizes, cinema tickets and a grand prize of Samsung Galaxy S4 were given away at the venues.

Vice President Operations, Unilever Nigeria Plc., Anil Gopalan, described the concert as an initiative designed to reward Nigerians for their patronage over the years, noting that for almost 10 years that Close Up has been in the Nigerian market.

“Nigerians have embraced the product and its variants which give them stronger, whiter teeth and fresher breathe,” Gopalan said, emphasizing at CloseUp they are proud of Nigeria and its people.

“We have promised to not just improve lives by providing quality products, but also impact lives by rewarding Nigerians. This goes to show that we do not just proclaim that Close Up Loves Naija with our words, we put in a lot of efforts to show our love with our actions,” he said.

Also speaking, Category Manager, Oral Care Unilever Nigeria Plc, Oiza Gyang pointed out that Close Up Loves Naija Concert was organised to celebrate the spirit of patriotism and unity among Nigerians.

“Nigerians are known to be the happiest people in the world. Close Up celebrates the warmth of Nigerians and will continue to put smiles on the faces of the people,” she said.

For the Brand Manager, Close Up, Dexter Adeola, the brand was introduced into the Nigerian market as the first red gel toothpaste, and Nigerians quickly embraced it.

“Now, Close Up dominates the Nigerian tooth paste market. We love people of this country and we are happy to give back to them,” he said.

One of the winners of the raffle draw in Abuja who walked away with a Samsung Galaxy S4, Adebola Adenuga, expressed joy and satisfaction about his winning and the concert. “I am so happy that I came here today. I enjoyed the show so much as I got the opportunity to see KCee and other top Nigerian musicians I always see on TV. I also won this beautiful gift. This is one of the best gifts I have received in my life. I thank Close Up for this. I cannot say ‘thank you’ enough,” Adenuga declared.
