Proudly Nigerian Zinox Technologies group has scored another
first with the launch of its Z-Pad into the nation’s Information Technology
(IT) market space.
Disclosing this to DigitalSENSE Business News at the weekend
at Zinox headquarters, chairman of the group, Dr. Leo-Stan Ekeh said that they
are partnering with FoxConn, the company behind most of the world production of
renowned Pads and Tablets.
He noted with this kind of partnership with FoxConn, Zinox
is not coming to the market place, especially in Nigeria with anything short of
global standard in its Z-Pad.
“We cannot afford to give Nigerians anything less, so we are
partnering with FoxConn,” he declared.
This is coming as he confirmed that Zinox would commence
shipping into the market by November, which means that Nigeria who desire this
world class product could pre-order at any Zinox offices nationwide.
Ekeh who was supported at the media launch by erudite
scholar, Prof. Oye Ibidapo-Obe and chief operating officer of the group, Mr.
Emmanuel Onyeje, pointed out that Zinox Z-Pad comes to town with Third and
Fourth Generation compatibility respectively in various versions with either
Windows Operating System or Android, assured, Z-Pad series, would be cost
effective.
“So, we have been working with Foxconn because we wanted to
go with the best and we got through a few months ago, due to technology changes
very often. We call ours Z-Pad just to resound that Zinox identity,” he
asserted.
We shall start shipping into the marekts in November, but
when people see this Z-Pad it may look very simple, but it came with a lot of
contents. We have the 7", 10" and multiple flexible that you can
pull-out use as a laptop or as a pad. We went through all the relevant
international certifications, but the strength that differentiates us from
others, iPad , Dell or HP is our local content. When you power it, you will see
that we have already embedded with it the Nigerian centenary history.
“So, we came up with this, we are not yet shipping, it has
3G, Wireless Fiderlity (WiFi) and uses SIM card and 4G,”
According to him, this is what Zinox has been working on for
sometimes now, explaining that Z-Pad is on Android.
“The 7 and 10 inches Z-Pad we are running on the Andriod,
but the bigger platform, 11” is running on Microsoft’s Windows because of its
compatibility challenges for some people, so we have options,” he elucidated.
As Nigerians, he said, Zinox appreciates cultural heritage
and nobody can do it more than Zinox can only do it for Nigeria.
Z-Pad, he further said, gives Zinox an opportunity to
showcase Nigerian former leaders, prominent Nigerians, soccer stars and advice
on business needs, and technology trends, among others.
“All these we can advice from a local content point of view
and foreign brands would not be able to deliver on this perfectly as we in
Zinox would do.
DigitalSENSE Business News gathered that for an entry, Zinox
is hitting the market with three versions of its Z-Pad in version 5, 6 and 7
respectively as entry point in the interim.
