Senior
Manager, Business Development and country manager for Qualcomm West Africa, Mr. Alex Dadson, has
said that Qualcomm is enabler of the entire Information and Communication
Technology (ICT) eco-system.
This is coming
as Qualcomm is working at the quick charge for customer convenience to reduce
the charge to 30 minutes and this will be introduced by next year.
“We are
looking forward to the first operator to introduce this in the market here,” he
said.
Addressing
some senior ICT editors in Lagos, Wednesday, Dadson described Qualcomm as a
telecom evangelist that builds processors across the telecommunications
industry, for both Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Code
Division Multiple Access (CDMA).
He cited Smartphones,
for instance, saying that Qualcomm powers most of the multi-tasking devices
making wave in the market today through a single processor.
“Qualcomm
is a communications systems’ company built on innovation across entire
wireless value chain based on the innovative technologies, standardization
product and communication.
He went on to cite another instance, saying that a modem allows you to connect with the like of MTN, or any other telecom service providers.

Additionally, he revealed that Qualcomm spent a good sum on research and
development (R&D).
“We
spent a lot of money on R and D, and if you don't spend on R & D, you can't
create. So if you don't spend you don't create,” he said.
Dadson stressed that latest research has revealed that subscribers will be delighted to pay for a good service, so Qualcomm is
concerned in improving the quality of service in of its area of operations.
Insisting that for Qualcomm to do well, it “all
the networks have to do well,” he said, explaining why Qualcomm has to assist
the operators to do well.
“We know how to do well both GSM and CDMA,” he declared.
