The Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) confirmed this to DigitalSENSE Business News in a press
statement endorsed by its Public Relations and Correctional Officer, Mr. Ope
Fatinikun.

Business News recollects that Charles Okah is one of the suspects under
trial for complicity in the October 1, 2010 bombing in Abuja.
SIM card is an integrated circuit that securely stores the
international mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) and the related key used to
identify and authenticate subscribers on mobile telephony devices such as
mobile phones and computers and lately measures 25 mm × 15 mm.
According to Fatinikun, Okah had smuggled a GSM phone into his
prison cell and was caught with a SIM card in his pant.
“During the search, Charles Okah, as usual refused to be
searched. But when he eventually submitted himself to the search, an MTN SIM
Card was found on him (under his pants). A Nokia C2 phone and a memory card
were also discovered in an electric bulb fitting located on top of the concrete
ceiling of his cell,” part of the press statement read.
NPS also dismissed as unfounded the recent allegation by Okah’s lawyer,
Mr. Festus Keyamo that some prison officials were trying to sodomise his
client.
Meanwhile, DigitalSENSE Business News further gathered that the complicity in the October 1, 2010 bombing led to the prosecution of Charles elder brother, Henry Okah, who is the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) and was found guilty by a South African court, while one of his alleged co-conspirator, Mr. Edmund Ebiware was in January this year sentenced to life imprisonment by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
