Airtel, Nokia offer free Facebook, WhatsApp bundle on Asha 501

Airtel Nigeria and Nokia West Africa have partnered to offer the next billion users, new data offerings for customers to access their favourite social media networks on their Nokia Asha devices.

DigitalSENSE Business News learnt that the new offering affords Airtel customers across the country to get free access to WhatsApp and Facebook Unlimited bundles on the new Nokia Asha 210, Asha 501 as well as all existing Asha devices for the first six months.

As said by Inusa Bello, the Chief Sales Officer of Airtel, the offer is open to all new and existing Airtel customers using the new Nokia Asha 210, Asha 501 as well as all existing Asha devices for the first six months.

He explained that to activate the WhatsApp bundle, customers are to text the keyword ‘WA’ to 948 while those who wants to enjoy free Facebook service are to text ‘FB’ to 688.

 “We are proud to partner with Nokia in delivering value to Nigerians.  The WhatsApp and Facebook offer on these two Nokia Smartphones provides another opportunity for Nigerians to enjoy Airtel’s robust internet services  that covers the 36 states of the federation and Abuja, ” he said.

General Manager, Nokia West Africa, Mr. Chris Brown explained that this is part of Nokia’s plan to extend its Asha range of smartphones to more customers in Nigeria, especially those looking at owning their first data enabled smartphone. “Through this partnership we are creating an opportunity for our customers to enjoy seamless social networking with friends, family and colleagues through Facebook, as well as being able to chat through WhatsApp,” he said.

The Airtel WhatsApp and Facebook bundles are unlimited.
