A telecom giant, Globacom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the palace of the Obi of Onitsha to sponsor the age long Ofala Festival in Onitsha for the next three year, terminating in 2017.

DigitalSENSE Business News gathers that the Obi of Onitsha, Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe Agbogidi, while announcing the extension of the Globacom’s sponsorship of the festival at the Ime Obi Onitsha said, that the palace has agreed that Globacom which began the sponsorship of the festive in 2011 should continue because the company had done so well so far.

Speaking at the signing, the Onitsha Monarch said that the company had brought in great innovations which have completely transformed the festival to the delight of the Onitsha people.

“We are here today to sign another MoU with Globacom on Ofala festival. Both of us agreed mutually for another three years and for me that means that there is something good in the relationship. It has been most beneficial. In the last two years when Globacom came into Ofala, the Onitsha Ofala has not been the same. The ambience the company has brought to Ofala is such that this arena is not sufficient again for the festival,” he said.

... Making SENSE of digital revolution!
