Jagua XF 2013: Set your own speed limit

THE Jagua XF 2013 comes with an Automatic Speed Limiter which allow users to select a maximum speed that should not be exceeded.

The vehicle also has large ventilated disc brakes which provide powerful stopping capability to complement the vehicle’s acceleration.
Other special features include:

Adaptive Cruising
Adaptive Cruise Control, optional on all models, uses microwave radar in the front bumper to sense if a slow-moving vehicle enters your path, adjusting the throttle and brakes to maintain a constant time gap between you and the vehicle in front. Once the road clears, the system will resume the previously set speed.

The radar can also signal a Forward Alert, which issues an audible warning if the traffic ahead slows quickly or another vehicle suddenly moves into your lane. Intelligent Emergency Brake (IEB) works with these systems to sense an imminent collision. It then modulates the brakes in order to minimize the speed of impact. In addition, active seatbelts detect how firmly they need to be cinched during emergency braking.

Sensing Low Pressure
The standard Tire Pressure Monitoring System provides an alert message if the pressure in any one of the tires falls below the specified level.

Intelligent Stop/Start
Part of the Jaguar sustainability strategy, Intelligent Stop/Start, standard on all V6 and V8 models, detects when it is appropriate to shut off the engine and instantly restart it. Upon coming to a full stop, the engine will shut down.

The moment you release the brake pedal, it will restart. The system even incorporates “change of mind” logic to reduce any hesitation in restarting.

A new twin-solenoid starter with upgraded motor, a secondary battery plus sophisticated electronic controls make all of this possible. The system will not operate under certain circumstances, such as very hot or cold ambient temperatures or if climate-control performance will be compromised.

It can also be turned off via a switch located on the center panel, but its operation is both seamless and beneficial, saving fuel and reducing emissions.

... Making SENSE of digital revolution!
