Airtel repackages data-voice services

Airtel Nigeria has redefined some of its packages to give data-rich voice packages.
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Airtel, Mr. Olu Akanmu said this would give users the opportunity to more bytes, and more talk leading to more fun.
Speaking at the launch of the products recently in Lagos, Mr. Akanmu said the products; Club 10 Padis, Smartbytes, 2good Classic and Big Family Plus, are targeted at specific customers, and that most of them are rooted on the entrepreneurship spirit of the nation’s modern youths.
Subscriber son all the packages, he said, would get for the first month of subscription free 90 Mega Bytes (MB) and 14 days free hello tunes.
Club 10 Padis, he said, was designed with the youths in mind and offers call to 10 Padis for 7.5kobo per second, free chat for a month with Padis on SMS chat and Airtel Groupie, and free access to facebook. Club 10 Padis also offers free night radio for users to listen to any music of their choice.
Smartbytes, the Airtel CMO said, was designed for the businessmen and women who are always responding to emails, making phone calls and doing other things on the internet, while on the go with their smartphones and blackberry.
With Airtel Smartbytes package, he said, users could make call for 18kobo to all networks and 20kobo per seconds to USA, UK Land lines, India and China. It also comes with a 20 free on-net SMS for the first month.
Mr. Akanmu revealed that the 2good Classic is for high value customers and has the same call rate to local and international calls as with Smartbytes package but comes with a daily access fee of N5.
The last of the data-rich voice packages, Big Family Plus which is family oriented offers 18kobo per second for on-net calls and 30kobo per second for off-net.
Also speaking, Airtel Chief Operating Officer, Deepak Srivastava affirmed that Airtel is keen at providing affordable telecommunications services which according to him is made possible through immense investments made by the company.
He said the products would go a long way in reiterating that Airtel is the best friends’ network as the products are pocket friendly.
As the company with the largest 3.75G network in Africa, Mr. Srivastava said Airtel is trying to ensure that internet access is made available to everyone, and that the company will not relent in its efforts in investing more against the future.
