NATCOMMS supports FG on promo stoppage

Chief Ogunbanjo, NATCOMS President

Nigerian telecommunications subscribers under the aegis of the National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers (NATCOMS) had applauded the federal government for putting an end to the sales promotions of GSM networks.
NATCOMS President, Chief Deolu Ogunbanjo said the stoppage would free-up the network which would also stop the current congestion on the networks.
DigitalSENSE Business News also recalls that the Mrs. Omobola Johnson once attributed the poor quality of services to the numerous promos by the operators.
“Telecom promotions have in one way or the other reduced tariffs across the networks and that has encouraged subscribers to enjoy talking freely,” Ogunbanjo noted.
Putting a stop to the promotions, Ogunbanjo believed would compel telecom operators to upgrade their services.
“By this decision, telecom operators will want to expedite action to improve on their networks," Ogunbanjo said that since that would be the only means to attract more subscribers.
