Glo joins the catch them young train


In a bid to discover and train talented young footballers in three West African countries, one of the leading telecommunications company in Nigeria, Globacom initiated Soccer Academy.
DigitalSENSE Business News learnt that the soccer academy, tagged The Dream Team will be a TV Reality show to search for and train young footballers in Nigeria, Ghana and Benin Republic.
Speaking about the academy, Director, Events and Sponsorships at Glo, Bode Opeseitan said the motive behind the academy is to groom young talents to become world-class footballers that can compete anywhere in the world.
According to Opeseitan, 33 talented finalists would be selected after screening thousands of young football talents across the three West African countries, after which they would embark on a 5-week intensive training in Lagos before.
After the training, 16 participants will emerge as the best of the pack, and will be going home with mouth-watering prizes which include cash prizes, scholarships and training tour of the Manchester United Soccer Schools in the United Kingdom.
Opeseitan urged youths in the selected countries to make judicious use of the great opportunity
