The African Top Level Domains
Organisation (AfTLD) has elected the President of Nigeria Internet Registration
Association, Mrs. Mary Uduma as member of Executive Committee.
Mrs. Uduma was elected at the 6th
edition of the African ccTLD event held recently in Zambia.
DigitalSENSE Business News learnt
that the AfTLD event was organised by AfTLD in collaboration with the Zambian
TLD manager, Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA).
A ccTLD policy meeting for
stakeholders was also conducted during the event, and a policy workshop which
looked into issues around the current global ccTLD with dot Africa being part
of it.
The regional meeting also featured
an Annual General Meeting (AGM) to discuss membership, policy among other
issues of the organisation.
According to NIRA, the nation’s
ccTLD manager may host the 7th edition of AfTLD in 2013.
