MTN, CWG XaaS to reduce banks’ software spending


Towards reducing micro-bank’s spending on software licensing, storage as well as implementation, MTN Nigeria has come up with micro-bank software targeted at microfinance banks.
The software called MTN XaaS was developed in partnership with Computer Warehouse Group and is to be managed by MTN business under the MTN Cloud Services platform.
Chief Enterprise Solutions officer (CESO), MTN Nigeria, Babatunde Osho affirmed that the software was designed to give microfinance banks the opportunity to engage in their banking operations without having to pay high for licensing, storage and implementation.
According to Osho, micro-finance banks could access these services from anywhere via a secure private or public connection reiterating that the only spending by the banks would be in the form of laptops and desktops procurement neeeded to access the platform.
Commenting on the partnership, CWG Group Managing, Austin Okere said the service is cost effective and will increase productivity in microfinance banks while improvement will also be recorded in customer service.
