MTN partners Jumia to boost online shopping

Leading mobile network operator, MTN Nigeria, has entered a partnership with a retail online store, Jumia in order to boost online shopping in the country with some goodies.

The partnership, as gathered by DigitalSENSE Business News, customers of the online store who purchase any internet enabled phone would gain free access to the digital world for a period of six months.

The General Manager, Consumer Marketing, MTN, Kola Oyeyemi noted the world has since proliferation of mobile access turned to one digital village.

MTN, he said, is determined to harness the endless potentials provided by innovative technology and make this available to its Nigerian customers. Stressing that MTN is committed to bringing world class technology and services to the Nigerian market and would continue to be one step ahead of the competition.

In recent past, he said, MTN has continued to cross boundaries to being the first in the provision of innovative technological solutions to the needs of its subscribers with its endless slew of products that are well-acclaimed by Nigerians to have brought excitement and satisfaction to its consumers.

He pointed out that the telecommunications sector in Nigeria has overtime evolved from concentrating solely on voice and text messages but has also come to incorporate data provision. Innovations and technology has provided other means by which people stay connected.

He recalled that Nigeria is the largest mobile market in Africa and the tenth largest in the world.

“With the gradual death of the fixed-line, there’s little surprise that the mobile device has long-since surpassed the PC as the way that Nigerians access the web and with the advancement of technology,” he said.

Oyeyemi explained that accessing the internet on mobile device is now the norm. MTN has continued to lead the charge in ICT penetration and creating a whole new world experience on mobile, especially for those on its network.

... Making SENSE of digital revolution!
