In what looks like an end to a fictional drama, eventually things
seems to have fall apart for Nigerian literary icon, and author of popular ‘Things
Fall Apart’, Prof. Chinua Achebe, with his death confirmed this afternoon.
Information available to DigitalSENSE Business News, the
literary colossus passed on to the great beyond yesterday, Thursday in the
United States of America (USA).
According to a report monitored on the African Independent
Television (AIT) abased out of Abuja, his publishers, the Penguin confirmed Achebe’s
death.
Achebe was born on November 16, 1930 and hailed from Ogidi
in Anambra State and died Thursday, March 21, 2013.
Already several Nigerians, especially those from the South Eastern
part of the country have begun to mourn his exit with some State Governors
leading the path of condolence messages.
Other reputable works of Chinue Achebe included Chike and
the River, No
Longer at Ease; Arrow of
God, A Man of the People, and Anthills of the Savannah, to mention
but a few.
His latest controversial
book, There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra,
did not fall short of his critic social misdemeanor, which stood Chinua Achebe
out as legend in literary works.
