VConnect backs Mobile Monday Nigeria’s hackathon



Mobile Monday Nigeria (MoMoNigeria) has disclosed that VConnect.com is supporting the upcoming first-ever “Hackathon” holding Monday, June 24 in Lagos, as part of efforts at bridging the divide in software development, with over 150 mobile developers registered

The event to be attended by software developers and graphic artists, has been scheduled to take place in Lagos under the auspices of the Lagos State Government Ministry of Science and Technology and sponsorship by VConnect Global services, operators of the VConnect.com information search portal.

DigitalSENSE Business News gathered that the event holds Monday, June 24, 2013 with over 150 mobile developers, enthusiasts and industry representatives would assemble at the Lagos State Ministry of Science and Technology E-Learning Centre, 14 Odunlami Street in the heart of Lagos Island, to participate in the "Entertainment Now" Hackathon, a free, day-long coding marathon for development teams.

Additionally, it would offer developer community the opportunity to create new and novel mobile web applications around movies showing in Lagos and related content for mobile phones powered by content from VConnect.com

Equally, some teams of programmers, graphic artists, and user interface designers would combine their talents and compete against each other to build new mobile web applications that meet guidelines and requirements set by the organisers of the Hackathon.

“A panel of experienced judges will assess each group’s application based on pre-set criteria,” official statement made available DigitalSENSE Business News read.

The organizers further urged contestants to register for the event through a dedicated website www.hackathon.com.ng.
