SAMSUNG 3-DAY IT RETAIL FAIR HOLDS @ IKEJA CITY MALL

Samsung Electronics West Africa on Thursday, February 28, 2013 opened a three-day Information Technology (IT) Retail Fair at the Ikeja City Mall, Alausa in Lagos State.

Speaking on the fair, the Head IT, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Ms. Folasade Oyelayo, informed DigitalSENSE Business News that the aim of the fair was to show consumers that Samsung has a fantastic range of IT products.

“People have long associated the brand with innovative mobile phones. It’s very funny that whenever Samsung is mentioned, the first thing that comes to peoples mind is the Galaxy range of smart phones. 

The Samsung brand is synonymous to innovative products. Our cutting edge technology spans across all our product range,” she said.

Oyelayo also said that at Samsung, they believe that Nigerians deserve to enjoy the same innovation from Samsung in the IT space.

She pointed out that Samsung IT division caters for IT products like printers, monitors, laptops or note pc’s and all-in-one PCs.

According to her, Samsung hosted the fair with compliment of experience centre with full product display, stressing that consumers have the opportunity to experience the IT products first hand and directed to accredited brand shops where they could make purchases with 24 months warranty.

She explained that the fair, was part of Samsung’s consumer education campaign, ran for three days in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt respectively.

She expressed confident that all they have to do was to introduce consumers to the brand products, adding that like every other innovative product range from Samsung, marks the beginning of a long term relationship.

Visitors to the Retail fair stand, she said, sets apart from experiencing the Samsung IT products, were given Samsung souvenirs while the children amongst them were treated to a variety of games.

She quoted one of the enthusiastic consumers, as saying that Samsung has really come a long way.

“I must confess that I used to think that they were only good in mobile phones and TV’s. This is an eye opener. I like the sleek look of the laptops and the idea of the all-in-one PC. The fact that you can sync all the devices through the all share cast function is also something innovative, I really am looking forward to owning one of my own,” the customer said.

DigitalSENSE Business News saw officials of Samsung at hand to educate consumers on the special features of Samsung IT products, including the product manager, Mr. Chima Ezenwanne, who explained various products to visitors to the fair, among others.
