Awoniyi says ICT Makes Governance Easier in Nigeria

The Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, has attributed his ability to successfully manage the state affairs through Information and communication Technology (ICT), while Gov. Idris Wada was away on medical treatment abroad.
According to his press secretary, Mr Michael Abu, in a press statement accessible to DigitalSENSE Business News, noted that the introduction of Information and Communication Technology made the task of governance easier for him while Wada was away.

He also said he was always in touch with the governor to receive directions that helped place the state on sound pedestal in administration; he also added that the process of Information and Communication Technology made governance less challenging for him.

Deputy Governor Awoniyi described the reception accorded to the governor on his return by the people after surviving a motor accident last year as wonderful and remarkable.

He also said that though the governor had a broken leg in the accident, but has a sound mind which helped greatly in the governance of the state.

He appealed to the people of the state to join hands with the governor in his transformation agenda, just as he commended the passion with which Wada pursued the rice programme initiative in the state.
"The impact of the programme had attracted the attention of the Federal Government to the State," hee said.
