The owners of GOTv, MultiChoice Nigeria Limited, has introduced scratch card denominations to
ease the time customers spend on renewing their subscription access.
Head, Public Relations at MultiChoice Nigeria, owners of GOTv, Mr. Segun
Fayose, confirmed this to DigitalSENSE Business News, Wednesday in Lagos, and
said that with this recharge card module, subscribers of GOtv could now renew
their subscription by using scratch cards, which is available in N1,000 and
N1,500 denominations.
He also said that this would shorten time and money as well as eliminate
the inconvenience in physically visiting MultiChoice offices for this singular purpose.
“Renewing subscription with the use of scratch cards, is similar to
recharging mobile phones using scratch cards. This can be activated at any time
of the day, every day of the week,” Fayose said.
The scratch card denominations, he said, aligned with GOtv’s bouquets,
namely GOtv and GOtv Plus, to enhance the overall user experience of GOtv services.
He quoted the General Manager, GOtv, Mrs. Elizabeth Amkpa, as saying
in a supporting press statement, “This payment system is convenient, easy to use,
and saves the subscriber money that would have been spent on transportation to
a service centre to renew subscription.”
She also said that GOtv recharge follows on the widespread
acceptance and popularity of telecoms top-up cards as an instant, easy to
access payment options and riding on this platform therefore, will ease the
payment for GOtv subscription.
“In your home, wherever you are, you can use the scratch card to
renew your subscription. Because the transaction is real time, you no longer
need to go to a MultiChoice office to renew your GOtv subscription,” Mrs. Amkpa
said.
She stressed that the objective is to take premium entertainment,
news and information to everybody, at affordable rates.
“With over 26 channels on GOtv and 34 channels on GOtv Plus
bouquets, we believe our mission is being achieved,” she said.
