Sterling Bank, Intel partner Westgate to boost laptop ownership

As part of desire to boost laptop ownership in homes across Nigeria, the Sterling Bank Plc and Intel Corporation Nigeria have partnered Westgate Computers.

The country manager, Intel Corporation Nigeria, Mr. Olubunmi Ekundare told DigitalSENSE Business News at a media launch in Lagos, Monday that by boosting access to technology would improve the quality of living for Nigerians beginning with teaming customers of Sterling Bank and youths through laptop acquisition.

“The new PC acquisition scheme is a scale-up on the ‘Create Your Tomorrow’ campaign rolled out by Intel late last year,” he said, adding that the scheme, being a sequel to last years’ seeks to reinforce Intel’s commitment to being the sponsors of tomorrow and fuelling the potentials of technology in Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

He pointed out that the  scheme will further bring the benefits of technology and to bear on the quality of life and living.

“Intel is therefore throwing its weight behind this initiative because we believe in plugging into a tomorrow that fits the profile which technology supports,” he further said.

Also speaking, the Chief Financial Officer, Sterling Bank, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, “At Sterling Bank, we understand the interrelatedness of technology and genuine development in any nation. This initiative offers everyone, the opportunity of a lifetime by empowering them play active roles in creating their tomorrow with sheer ease and convenience.”

According to him, the scheme is targeted at salary earners whose accounts reside with Sterling Bank as well as (NYSC) Corps members whose monthly allowances are domiciled with Sterling Bank in this current phase and hopes to extend the initiative as time goes on.

Group Head Retail Loans, Ms Kikelomo Kuponiyi, also said, the programme will ease the process of owning Intel-powered laptops while relying on a stress-free monthly installmental payment process.

She explained that Individuals could purchase quality Intel-powered PC’s for work and play while payment is spread over 12 months, once the preliminary application has been verified and accepted for this initiative.

The laptops, she said, are available at three locations across the country in this phase, namely Lagos, Abuja and Enugu offices of Sterling Bank and would be delivered within 72 hours of receiving clearance, just as the product is insured.

Sterling Bank, she said, is committed to creatively meeting customers’ needs and its collaboration with Intel Corporation and Westgate is one of several initiatives to improve the quality of life and living while meeting the personal and business needs and demands of its customers.
