The Government of the Republic of Kenya has been given the greenlight to host of the second African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF), scheduled to take place in September, 2013.

Governance Forum (AfIGF) confirmed that the second AfIGF will hold in Kenya
between September 11 and 13, this year.
This, official said, follows the
call for bid by the secretariat last December and submission by the government of Kenya
through the Ministry of Information and Communication in February 2013.

Business News also gathered that this bid was
confirmed in March, hence, the AfIGF secretariat announced that the 2nd
African Internet Governance Forum will be held in Kenya.
“The meeting will be hosted by the
Government in cooperation with the Internet Society Kenya Chapter,” AfIGF
confirms.

Business News recalls that Kenya hosted with
great success the 5th Internet Governance Forum (IGF), which had the
highest number of participants in the history of the IGF.
The AfIGF secretariat commended the government
and people of Kenya for agreeing to host, after Egypt, such an important
African event, as they look forward to welcoming participants.
The first African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) was held
at the Smart Village in Cairo, Egypt between October 2 and 4, 2012.
