Pope Francis, global celebrities route for #BringBackOurGirls movement

LIKE a wild fire, the campaign to call on the authorities of the Federal Government and world at large to ensure the return of the over 200 girls from the Federal Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, caught the attention of every well meaning individual including Nigerian and international celebrities.
Here, we bring you some of the forerunners in this campaign among the world celebrities which include our own dear 2Face Dibia, 9ice, Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Stella Damasus, Alicia Keys, Anne Hathaway, John Legend, Angelina Jolie, Madonna with the most interesting one coming from Chris Brown as well as Keri Hilson and Mary Blige to mention but a few.
The current Pope of Catholic Church, Pope Francis also lends his voice to Bring Back Our Girls.
For 2Face, who recently cautioned the political class in the country to warn themselves, says in his social media handle on Instragam that “Enough is enough…bring back our girls” while his longtime friend, 9ice went a step further raising the bar with a song on bring back our girls. Hear him “Ring the alarm, Boko Haram, #Bring Back Our Girls.”
The duo of Genevieve Nnaji, and Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde were saddened with the abduction of these girls and beckon on all well meaning individual and government to please join hands with the authorities to ensure these girls return to their families in good time.
Remember Stella Damasus known for outspokenness could not hide her displeasure and went on to asked that this kind of abduction coupled with seeming government inability to respond, wondered how safe Nigerians now are in their own land.
Seeing Alicia Keys, Anne Hathaway, John Legend posing with the signage in support of the call for the release of the school girls by Boko Haram, to many local fans an exciting moment.
Alicia Keys said she was enraged on hearing the continuous abduction of the school girls. “I’m so saddened and enraged that these girls are not back where they belong! Safe at home and at school! Safe with their families! Safe to become the incredible leaders and powerful voices they are yet to be. I’ve already signed the petitions…have you? #bringbackourgirls.”
Chris Brown alongside Mary Blige and Keri Hilson cannot hold back in the clamour to #BringBackOurGirls unconditionally for them to continue the life without further molestation, moreso join their families.
Noteworthy is that since April 14 these girls aside a few that escaped in the forest have been in the custody of Boko Haram led by Abubakar Shekau and at the time of this report a joint special force led by United States is collaborating with the Nigerian authorities in the search and rescue mission.
And then the Queen of Pop, Madonna, also lend her voice to #BringBackOurGirls movement as well as Malala, the Pakistani schoolgirl who stood up to the Taliban and defended her right to education and got shot in the head.
An interesting quote among the movement was this: “223 Teenage girls being held captive in Nigeria by Religious fundamentalists who believe it is a sin to educate girls! They are being sold as brides in the market place. This insanity has to stop! What is the US government doing about this? #BringBackOurGirls.
