Nigeria must act on bridging digital gap - Aregbesola

Aregbesola, Osun State Governor

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has advocated for the bridging of the ever growing digital gap between the developed and developing economies of the world.
Speaking at the eight edition of the Nigerian Telecoms Awards organised by Logical Media Group, Gov Aregbesola said Nigeria must ensure that there is a structure in place in a bid to realise the economic agenda of the nation and attract more investment in the sector.
"We all have to remember that technology, just like time, waits for nobody," he said stressing the need to adopt Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a fundamental right, even than politics.
According to Aregbesola, investments in advanced technology acquisition are fundamental to the achievement of nation's agenda as regard Vision 20:2020.
Aregbesola commended the creation of the Communications Technology Ministry by the federal Government, asserting that ICT industry was one of the highly promising and rapidly growing sectors of the nations' economy.
He highlighted some of the areas at which the sector has helped the economy to include job creation as well as transparency in governance.

... Making SENSE of digital revolution!
