that an additional 2000 kilometre fibre would be delivered by October this year
in order to ensure quality internet experience and network quality to
subscribers.
While commenting
on the subscribers’ acceptance of the company’s recent packages like 2Good
Time, Quicktalk, Big Family, Club10, MAMO among others, Rajaan said that Airtel
had already started its retail dedicated helpdesk, a unique offer to assist subscribers
scattered all over the nation.
The Airtel boss

Communications Commission (NCC) rated the company as the best in terms of Quality
of Service in March and April 2012.
In keeping in
touch with customers, Airtel do examine quarterly customer service survey in a
bid towards service improvement.
According to Rajaan,
Airtel Rising Star Football Academy is one of the brands of the company with over
35, 000 kids participating in the season 2 edition; giving opportunities to the
less privileged talented kids. Other brands also include the sponsorship of
AMAA Award 2012, Nigeria Got Talent as well as the partnership with Arsenal

the Chief Operating Officer, Deepak Srivastava affirmed that Airtel recorded a
growth of 36 per cent and had invested over $1.26, about N201.6 billion in the past
two years.
Human resources
development according to Deepak forms part of the company’s total investment and
that the company will continue to invest in a bid to maintain its leadership
position.
Fibre-cuts,
power, multiple legislation and taxation formed part of the challenges listed
by Deepak confronting the telecommunication industry in Nigeria.
Deepak recommended
the declaration of base station as a critical national infrastructure as
against seeing it as properties of the telco.
According to
Deepak, fibre-cut is one of the major set-back for the telecommunications
industry in as it leads to poor quality of service and in the case of a BTS
serving other base stations, any cut that affect the hub BTS will definitely
affect other base stations which the hub is serving.
He also suggested
a preferential power supply from the government to the telecommunications so as
to reduce the cost of powering base stations scattered all over the country.
