A total of 13 States
have confirmed participation in the annual Nigerian Telecom Development Lecture
(NITDEL), with the theme: The Nigerian
Telecom industry: prospects and dilemma, to be held in Lagos, September 7, this
year.
According to the
organizers, led by Mrs. Yinka Oguntoyinbo, the managing director of Logica
Media, 13 states have confirmed their willingness to send a delegation of
five-members of the state's ICT team to the lecture.
She listed these States
to comprise Lagos, Kwara, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Edo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Edo,
Ekiti, Delta and Oyo.
She further disclosed
that the delegations from the States are expected to be led by their Special
Advisers on Information and Communications Technologies (ICT), even as
invitation has been sent to all stakeholders.

lecture since 2006, which has attracted many notable speakers within and outside the
Nigerian business and political class.
Some of the previous
notable attendees comprise Prof. Wole Soyinka, Africa's most prized
intellectual, Prof. Molefi kete Asante, world's most respected professor of
African history, Most Rev. Mathew Kukah, Aig imhokuede, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed
Tinubu, Donald Duke, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Ernest Ndukwe, Marvel
Akpoyibo, to name a few.
Whereas, NITDEL was
moderated in 2008 by the duo of Dele Momodu, the ovation publisher and Reuben
Abati, the spokesman to the president Goodluck Jonathan, while in 2009, it was
the turn of Prof. Sola Fajana, who is now the vice chancellor of Afe Babalola University.
