processors as the ideal processors to handle the complex data arising from the
emerging information society.
Speaking at a training session
for resellers, the Marketing Director, TD, Mrs. Chioma Chimere, said the
convergence of voice, video and data at work and recreation has placed enormous
pressure on the PC in terms of how long it takes to execute specific
assignments.
“Today’s multi-tasking
achiever requires a PC that enables him to clear his desk in record time,” she said.
Intel Core, Mrs. Chimere explained, is a brand
name that Intel uses for various mid-range to high-end consumer and business
microprocessors, adding that the processors are more powerful variants of the
same processors marketed as entry level Celeron and Pentium.
“The Intel i3, the Intel i5 and the Intel i7 are
the three divisions that make up Intel's Core brand: a collection of
consumer-oriented processors, or central processing units, for desktop and
laptop PCs,” she said.
She explained that identical or more capable
versions of Core processors are also sold as Xeon processors for the server and
workstation market.
The TD marketing boss
explained that generally referred to as the 3rd generation Intel Core Processors, they guarantee speed and longer working hours,
stressing that the Dell Inspiron 5050 and Dell Latitude E5430 as systems with
Intel Core i3 and Intel Core i5 processors respectively.
She urged the resellers
to increase the market shares of these outstanding products based on the
reputation of Dell as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that brings the right
products and services to a wide range of customers across all business segments
– home, small and medium business,
and for large enterprises.
Mrs. Chimere assured that the manufacturer’s
warranty from Dell will be keenly executed to the delight of the customers.

recalls that the TD Dell partnership was launched in December 2009, at which
time the then the Managing Director, Mrs. Chioma Ekeh described as natural that
Dell should desire to gain respectable market shares in Nigeria and West Africa
riding on the platform of the major player status of TD.
