'Problem with Nokia Lumia 1520'

A gadget ardent, , has said that despite all the fuss about Nokia Lumia 1520, there is an issue mobile device customers must be aware, especially on Lumia 1520, which was unveiled in Lagos on Monday.

ITRealms reports that despite the Lumia 1520 being one of the favorite Lumias to date, it has a few nits that bothered industry watchers.

“One of those was the often reported ‘screen sensitivity’ complaint, where scrolling with the display would frequently result in a tap. Think of scrolling through your emails and instead of scrolling down, you open a message up unintendedly. Another example would be on 6tag, the double-tap to like feature of the app would be activated when just swiping through photos,” he said.

According to him, reports from today’s Extras + Info update had essentially fixed this problem, stressing that on Nokia Lumia 1520, it is important to admit that it does seem to be better, but some industry watchers are yet to be so convinced.

“Nokia did respond to user complaints in their help forum, noting that an over-the-air software update was due to fix the issue in January,” he said.

A statement from the forum showed that Nokia team is on top of the situation.

“Hi, We are working on it. Issue will be fixed with the new SW –software -release available over the air during January 3rd or 4th week. Sorry for the inconvenience...” officials were quoted as saying in the forum.

Daniel also said that software updates imply things like Extras + Info instead of more drastic firmware changes, which would require carrier approval. Could today’s update have been the one? We’re working to find out, but with CES wrapping up and it being late on a Friday, we’ll have to wait to confirm.

However, in a launch in Lagos, Nokia management said its first 6-inch Lumia smartphones into the Nigerian market; the Lumia 1520, is top of the range Windows Phone and the affordable Lumia 1320.

To compliment the launch of both devices, Nokia has kicked off the Storyteller Competition which would allow people share inspirational stories of friendship and get the opportunity to win an all expense paid trip to London.

With a 6 inch 1080p Full HD screen, the Lumia 1520 has an enhanced start screen featuring an additional 3rd column of live tiles, allowing people to get to their favourite apps faster with less scrolling.

It also features a 20MP PureView camera with optical image stabilization, oversampling technology and zooming capabilities which can easily capture and edit high quality pictures and tell better stories.
