Danfo Reloaded II set to debut

The much celebrated Danfo developers are set to launch the Reloaded II version of the game, Tuesday in Lagos, as confirmed by the chief architect of Pledge51 Limited, owners of Danfo, Bayo Puddicombe.

He told DigitalSENSE Business News (DSBNews) that all is set for the launch of the Danfo Reloaded II as planned
“We're on track to launch Danfo Reloaded II tomorrow as planned,” Puddicombe declared.

He explained that ‘Danfo Reloaded’ is the second generation of the popular mobile game title “Danfo”, which garnered over 100,000 downloads in less than six months of going online.

In the game, he said, players get a chance to play as Kunle the driver of a Danfo, a local parlance for privately owned commercial bus; who is in dire straits.

He has eight days to raise N60,000, about $500 for a down payment on his own bus or else he will be back on the streets.

He explained that the first version of this game came third in the 2011 Nokia West Africa Create for Millions Competition.

This latest version, he said, was a response to popular demand and was developed in collaboration with Nokia West Africa.

“We have a passion for using technology as a tool to impact lives and create wealth in Nigeria and Africa,” he said, adding that the game is available for download on the Nokia Ovi store.

DigitalSENSE Business News (DSBNews) recalls that Pledge51 prides itself as a fresh mobile media company pursuing opportunities in Nigeria’s mobile internet space.
