APGA sacks Anambra Deputy Governor’s Transition committee Boss

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) last Saturday sacked the Transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South local Government Area, Hon Benneth Ibekwe for alleged anti-party activities.
DigitalSENSE Business News gathered that Ibekwe is the candidate of the Deputy Governor of Anambra state, Mr Emeka Sibeudu.

Addressing newsmen on the development at its party office in Umunze on the development Orumba South APGA officials, said the sack was sequel to a resolution during its last Exco meeting.

When contacted the Transition committee Chairman, Ibekwe who was infuriated said he was not aware and should not be disturbed over that as he is not worried. Efforts to speak further with him proved abortive.

Reading from a document signed by 17 out of 18 members of the Executive, the Secretary of the Party in Orumba South, Hon Chuks M Ikedi flanked by the Chairman Chief Tom Okoli said Ibekwe’s sack was with immediate effect. The document was equally signed by all the party ward chairmen bringing the total signatories to 36.

Also, the party alleged in its statement made available to DigitalSENSE Business News that Ibekwe was having series of meetings to destabilize APGA in Orumba South and has continued to deny APGA members their rights and privileges since he was sworn in December 2012.

"Barr Ibekwe have been having series of meetings on how to destabilize APGA as a political party in Orumba South which proved to us that he is not one of us. We are not of the same family. So, based on these and other reasons, lwe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Orumba South Local Government Area deem it necessary to expunge him (Barr. Ibekwe) pronto from our noble party (APGA) before he ruins us (APGA).

"Severally, Barr Ibekwe has told lies against the party officials just to put the party in disarray which prompted us to wonder if at all Ibekwe is a true APGAN .... No.

"More so having heard all the lies leveled against the party, the party invited him for a detailed explanations towards that, instead of obliging, he bluntly refused to come.

"On 20/01/2013 being Sunday, the Transition Chairman Barr Beneth Ibekwe summoned a meeting in his invitees were PDP members which prompted some APGA stalwarts to ponder and wonder how and when they started having stakeholders meeting with PDP members. That’s anti-party to the highest order. Also in the said meeting, issues of APGA as a party were raised which also prompted APGA faithful to ponder and wonder when it has become the duty of Transition Chairman to call APGA stakeholders meeting and invite the local government party Chairman and secretary to such a meeting. Is it ideal? Barr Ibekwe did it to set Orumba South in disarray, but Orumba South as a local Government is saying .… No.

"During the subscription of MDG project, the party met him and begged for at least one project but regrettably, he bluntly refused. The worst was that he fielded people of non Orumba South indigenes. Why?

The Publicity Secretary, Mr Christian Okoli and former Chairman Nze Nathan Nwokedi confirmed that the decision was real and taken by the APGA in Orumba South, further alleged that Ibekwe had taken them for a ride since he assumed office simply because he is a PDP man.
