THE Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, handled
3,867,265 passengers traffic and 60,456 aircraft movements in 2013, the Federal
Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has revealed, reports DigitalSENSE

Analysis Report signed and released by Mr Danmusa Jibril, Head of Operations
Department, FAAN, the report, made available to DigitalSENSE Business News,
stated the passengers comprised those who arrived and departed Abuja through
the airport during the year under review.
Also, the News Agency of Nigeria
reported that this included domestic and international scheduled and
non-scheduled commercial and chartered flights that landed and took-off from
Abuja in 2013.
The report said the 2013
passengers’ traffic and aircraft movements were significant improvements over
that of 2012 when the airport recorded 312,090 passengers and 4,986 aircraft.
The report said the airport
recorded 2,927,883 passengers on its scheduled domestic traffic movements for
the year.
According to the report, 205,415
scheduled domestic passengers arrived and departed through the airport in
January and 218,276 in February.
It states that scheduled passengers were people that
came through scheduled flights while non-scheduled ones were those that flew in
and out of the airport through chartered flights.
In March, 212,767 passengers flew into and outside
Abuja; 222,464 in April; 238,115 in May and 258,477 in June, it said.
It said that in July, the airport recorded 294,364
passengers; 279,464 in August and 267,472 in September.
It recorded 240,405 passengers in October; 242,737 in
November and 247,327 in December, the report said.
The report added that the airport recorded 83,893
passengers on its non-scheduled domestic traffic movements that arrived and
departed Abuja in 2013.
It said that for scheduled international passengers’
flow, the airport also recorded 802,747 passengers during the period.
It said that
for non-scheduled international passengers’ flow, the airport had 52,742
passengers that arrived and departed between January and December, 2013.
